Darren Smith

Darren Smith is a highly experienced aviation professional with over two decades in the industry. Currently serving as a Senior Station Engineer at Jet2.com and Jet2holidays since January 2011, Darren manages the Glasgow Line and oversees all 11 UK manned line stations. Prior experience includes roles as a Crew Chief and B1 Engineer at Ryanair, where responsibilities encompassed supervision and maintenance of Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Additional roles include a B1 Engineer at Jet2.com, and various mechanical positions at Monarch Aircraft Engineering, FLS Aerospace, Shannon Aerospace, ASL Lemwerder, and SAS, focusing on aircraft maintenance and structural repairs. Darren holds full B1 licensing for B737 CL/NG and B757, as well as extensive A licenced approvals for multiple aircraft types. Education was completed at St Albans College from 1988 to 1991.
