James MacPherson

James MacPherson is an experienced aviation professional currently serving as a pilot for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays since May 2023. Previously, James held the position of Manager of Aviation Safety and B747 pilot at Cargolux Airlines from July 2020 to May 2023, acting as the primary contact for the Aviation Safety Department. From February 2005 to March 2020, James worked at Flybe as an Aviation Safety Investigator, Line Training Captain, Type Rating Instructor, and Type Rating Examiner, also serving as the Principal Flight Data Monitoring Gatekeeper. Prior experience includes serving as a ME/IR Instructor at CAE Oxford Aviation Academy from May 2001 to February 2005 and as an RAF Flying Scholarship Instructor at Cornwall Flying Club Limited from 1999 to 2001. Academic credentials include a BSc (Hons) degree in Meteorology from the University of Plymouth, completed from 1990 to 1993.
