Kris Smith

Kris Smith is an experienced aviation professional and entrepreneur, currently serving as a Senior First Officer for both the A321 and B757-200 at Jet2.com and Jet2holidays since May 2014. In addition to flying responsibilities, Kris is a maintenance check pilot and mentor to junior pilots. Prior to this role, Kris founded smartword, a translation company providing services in 160 languages. Previous experience includes serving as Strategic Account Director at Capita Translation and Interpreting, Sales Manager at TUI Travel PLC, and National Account Manager at Primeur Ltd. Kris also has a military background as a Royal Navy Pilot and training experience through the Yorkshire Universities Air Squadron. Educational qualifications include a BA (Hons) in Peace Studies from the University of Bradford and leadership training from Britannia Royal Naval College.
