Sergey Dmitriev started their career in 1989 as an Engineer at the State Optical Institute in St. Petersburg, Russia. Sergey then worked at HORIS as the CTO, co-founder, and project leader from 1993 to 1996. Following that, they joined TogetherSoft and served as a Project leader and software developer for four years. In 2000, Dmitriev co-founded JetBrains and held the role of CEO and co-owner until 2012, after which they became the President and co-owner of the company.
Sergey Dmitriev obtained a Master's degree in Mathematics from Saint Petersburg State University, where they studied from 1983 to 1988.
