Vaclav Pech

Vaclav Pech is a Senior Java Developer and Technology Evangelist at Jetbrains, Inc. in Prague, where involvement began in June 2003, focusing on domain-specific languages, IDEs, and concurrency after a four-year period promoting JetBrains' programming philosophy. As Project Lead for GPars at Codehaus since November 2008, Vaclav has directed efforts to implement high-level concurrency abstractions in the Groovy programming language, managing a team of seven committers. Additionally, Vaclav serves as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague since September 2011, teaching modern programming concepts, and previously lectured on concurrency and Groovy at WebExpo Academy in 2012. Earlier experience includes Java Developer/Consultant roles at Alfa Consult in Luxembourg and as a Developer at Unicorn in Prague. Vaclav holds a Master’s degree in Software Engineering from Charles University, earned between 1994 and 1999.
