JETP 2.0: From Commitment to Action

Just Energy Transition Partnership in Indonesia is entering a new phase — JETP 2.0.

Launched at the G20 Bali Summit 2022, JETP brings together the Government of Indonesia, the International Partners Group, and Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero to accelerate a just and inclusive energy transition.

With up to USD 21.4 billion in pledged support, JETP is focused on:

* Scaling up renewable energy
* Strengthening transmission grid infrastructure
* Building a climate-resilient economy
* Supporting Indonesia’s pathway to net-zero emissions

This ambitious agenda is driven by the International Partners Group (IPG) — a powerhouse coalition comprising Germany and Japan as co-leads, alongside Canada, Denmark, the European Union, France, Italy, Norway, and the United Kingdom.

From Planning to Delivery

In its first phase, the JETP Secretariat — supported by Japan via Asian Development Bank — played a key role in shaping the Comprehensive Investment and Policy Plan (CIPP), coordinating the Working Groups, and tracking the project pipeline.

What’s New in JETP 2.0?

Since 2025, Germany has served as co-lead together with Japan.

Starting in 2026, JETP shifts into implementation mode — with a stronger focus on delivery and real impact.

As part of this next phase, the JETP Delivery Unit (JDU) will facilitate implementation, supported by Germany.

Working closely with Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, IPG, and GFANZ, the JDU will:

* Support implementation of priority projects
* Track and communicate progress transparently
* Facilitate strategic dialogue across stakeholders
* Help solve bottlenecks to accelerate delivery

JETP 2.0 is about turning ambition into action — and delivering real results on the ground.
