John C. is a seasoned professional in information security and governance, currently serving as the Director of Information Security Policy and Governance at Jisc since November 2014. With a robust background that includes leadership roles such as Head of Janet Policy & Strategy and Head of Cyber Defence, John has spearheaded initiatives to enhance cybersecurity strategies and policies for the Janet Network, a vital resource for the UK education and research sectors. Previously, John held positions focused on strategic programmes in Access and Identity Management at JANET(UK), and contributed to foundational information management frameworks at Becta. An alumnus of Coventry University with an MBA in Cybersecurity, and holding a PhD in Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham, John combines significant technical expertise with a strategic vision for information security.
