Steve Byford

Steve Byford is an experienced professional in the field of research management and scholarly communications, currently serving as Product Manager for Research Management at Jisc since June 2014. In this role, Steve focuses on digital services that support open research in UK higher education institutions. Prior to this, Steve held positions including Scholarly Communications Services Manager, managing initiatives to enhance scholarly communications in UK universities, and Research Information Officer at the University of the West of England, where impactful case studies were developed for the Research Excellence Framework. With a strong foundation in publishing from previous roles, including Publications Director at the Society for Endocrinology and Assistant Managing Editor at Institute of Physics Publishing, Steve has a proven track record of advancing scholarly publishing initiatives, including the advocacy for a new open access journal. Steve holds a BSc in Theoretical Physics from the University of Exeter.
