John Whelan is currently the Chief Engineer for JLL at Goldman Sachs Tower in Jersey City, NJ, where they oversee day-to-day operations of approximately 1.4 million square feet of Class A office space. They have been a member of Local 68 - Operating Engineers since January 2007 and previously held positions at East Orange General Hospital and The New York Times. Whelan has also demonstrated leadership in the firefighting community, serving as Captain for the River Vale Fire Department and as Chief of Department for the Woodcliff Lake Fire Department from 2020 to 2022. They hold an Associate's degree in Communications from Bergen Community College and have completed various technical studies in HVAC, critical systems, and electrical disciplines.
