Robert Ehlers

Director, Advanced Learning Programs at JMark Services, Inc.

Robert Ehlers has a diverse work experience in the field of security studies and intelligence. Robert began their career as an Intelligence Officer in the United States Air Force, serving for 24 years and retiring with the rank of Colonel. During their time in the Air Force, they had various assignments, including teaching roles at the United States Air Force Academy and the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies (SAASS).

After their retirement from the Air Force, Robert worked as a Professor of Security Studies at Angelo State University. Robert led program development and teaching for the Bachelor's and Master's in Intelligence, Security, Studies, and Analysis, specializing in African security issues. Robert also served as the Director of the Center for Security Studies, where they established partnerships and oversaw the development of new online and in-residence degree programs.

Currently, Robert is employed at JMark Services Inc. as the Director of Advanced Learning Programs. Robert'sresponsibilities include mentoring Department of Defense personnel in the Information Environment Advanced Analysis (IEAA) course. This course focuses on strategy, context, culture, cognition, and change over time within the information environment.

Throughout their career, Robert has written and presented on topics related to military and airpower history. Robert has a strong background in intelligence and security studies, with expertise in both academic and practical settings.

Robert Ehlers completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and History at The Ohio State University from 1981 to 1986. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in History at the University of Florida, which they successfully completed from 1991 to 1992. Later, from 2002 to 2005, Ehlers enrolled at The Ohio State University again and earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Military History.
