Joey Clothing was founded by Rashmi Wijekoon, inspired by her personal experience of struggling to find comfortable, stylish clothing during the postpartum period. Recognizing a gap in the market, she launched Joey Clothing with a focus on "Happinesswear"—a concept that promotes happiness, confidence, comfort, and style. 

The brand initially started passionate side hustle with a single mployee, founder herself, producing only 12-20 pieces per collection. Today, Joey  has rapidly expanded its operations, employing 21 employees across online and retail operations. This growth has created jobs for hundreds of individuals across the value chain as every product is designed and manufactured in Sri Lanka. Joey Clothing’s commitment to community empowerment is evident, as it employs local men and women, providing them with sustainable livelihoods and uplifting their families.

Innovation is at the heart of everything Joey Clothing does, from its meticulously crafted designs and efficient processes to its standout retail outlets. Each design is thoughtfully created, from fabric selection to the final finish, steering clear of "me-too" designs. Joey is proud to say it’s different and one-of-a-kind in the fashion industry.

From its humble beginnings, Joey has evolved into one of Sri Lanka’s leading fashion brands, with 2 retail outlets and a significant social media presence. Joey  is more than a fashion label; it’s a symbol of innovation, happiness, and confidence for women everywhere.
