Rob Lohnes, PMP, has extensive experience in software engineering and management, currently serving as the Manager of Embedded Operating Systems and the Manager of Turf & Compact Utility Software at John Deere since January 2019. Prior to this, Rob worked at Caterpillar Inc. for over 18 years in various roles, including Engineering Manager/NPI Program Manager, where achievements included delivering advanced factory fit solutions, managing customer requirements for multiple machine models, and overseeing a team of Project Managers. As Software Engineering Supervisor 2, Rob led a large software development team responsible for key products such as CAT® Slope Assist and transitioned the team to Agile methodologies. Additional experience includes leadership in machine software development and controls engineering, with a notable accolade of a US patent for innovative machine control systems. Rob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago.
