John Simpson Architects provides added value to projects, in particular complex and challenging ones, through its highly sensitive approach to place-making.

Established in 1980, the practice is now recognised nationally and internationally for designs that possess a distinctly joyful quality that is derived from celebrating local character.

In the UK, the company pioneered the practice of creating new, mixed-use and walkable communities. It is presently involved in the creation of many of the new settlements which will satisfy the current housing need in a truly sustainable manner.

Project sectors covered include master planning, mixed-use, residential, public, educational, museum, hotel and commercial buildings. John Simpson Architects carries out projects across the world: throughout the British Isles, Europe and the USA.

Design awards have been received from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), The Royal Fine Arts Commission Trust (RFACT) and the Institute of Classical Architecture and Classical America (ICA).
