Derek Smith

Derek Smith is a System Integration Specialist and Team Lead at Johnson Controls, where they focus on the Alarm and Fire Safety Industry by developing product requirement specifications and troubleshooting various communication protocols and hardware platforms. With extensive knowledge in Central Monitoring Station equipment and commercial fire systems, they specialize in alarm receivers, panel communication methods, and compliance regulations for North American and European markets. Derek has been with Tyco Security Products since 2012, where they also handle staffing recruitment and performance evaluations for a team of system integration staff. They earned a degree in Electronics from RCC Institute of Technology between 1990 and 1992.
