Gene Fields is an accomplished engineering executive with extensive experience in compressor technology and innovation. Currently serving as Vice President of Global Compressor Technologies at Johnson Controls since October 2015, Gene leads the integration of Hitachi's compressor technology into JCI DX systems and oversees a comprehensive technology roadmap. Previous roles include Global VP of Innovation & Technology at Tecumseh Products Company and Global VP of Engineering, where Gene managed engineering operations across multiple countries. Gene has also held leadership positions at LG Electronics, Danfoss, and Scroll Technologies, focusing on advanced research and development, engineering management, and product innovation within the compressor industry. In addition to engineering achievements, Gene was a songwriter, singer, and guitarist with the rock band Hobbit, contributing to multiple original albums inspired by Tolkien. Gene's academic background includes a BS and MS in Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
