Mara Murphy currently serves as Vice President and Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer, General Counsel, and oversees Global Litigation at Johnson Controls since February 2019. Previously, Mara held several leadership roles at Williams & Connolly LLP, including Co-Chair of the Food, Beverage & Pet Litigation Practice Group from 2007 to 2019, and worked as a Partner and Co-Founder at Aegis Law Group LLP in 2003-2004. Additional experience includes serving as Senior Counsel at AOL and a Litigation Associate at Williams & Connolly LLP. Mara began a legal career as a Judicial Law Clerk at the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of Virginia School of Law and participation in the Executive Leadership Program at The Wharton School. Mara also holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in English from Colorado College.
