Benjamin Rushton has diverse experience in both customer service and scientific research. As an Ice Cream Server at Royd Ices from June 2022 to November 2024, Benjamin honed communication skills while managing product sales in various parks. In a PHD placement at Johnson Matthey from October 2025 to July 2025, Benjamin conducted research on biomass-derived molecules for sustainable aviation fuel, showcasing leadership through independent project direction. Additionally, as a Laboratory Technician at Rosehill Polymers Group in August and September 2023, Benjamin focused on the synthesis and analysis of polyurethane materials. In a voluntary role as Bar Events Officer with John Snow College JCR from September 2022 to June 2023, Benjamin organized college events and contributed to the community, earning recognition with the 2023 Contribution to the College Community Award. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry at Durham University, Benjamin previously completed an MChem in Chemistry at the same institution and excelled in A-levels at Greenhead College with top grades in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.
