Megan Binkley

Megan oversees finance, accounting, treasury, tax, financial reporting, corporate development, reinsurance and reserving, and investor relations. Megan joined Root in 2019 as Root's inaugural Chief Accounting Officer and was promoted to Deputy CFO in 2022. As CAO, she built the team from the ground up, played an integral role in our IPO, managed the Audit Committee, and provided strategic guidance on many initiatives. Megan was named Interim CFO in 2023. Prior to joining Root, Megan served as a Senior Manager at KPMG Netherlands and KPMG U.S., primarily serving insurance and banking clients in the external audit practice. Megan has extensive experience conducting audits of public and private entities in accordance with PCAOB and U.S. GAAS standards and has strong understanding of SEC rules and regulations, U.S. GAAP, statutory accounting principles, and FDICIA reporting.

Megan was an enlisted Sergeant in the Ohio National Guard from 2003-2009 where she received medals and accommodations earned for exceptional service and good conduct. Megan is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Ohio and holds membership with the Ohio CPA Society.
