Kristen Shroff

Kristen Shroff has a diverse range of work experience in the education sector. Kristen currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Prisma since October 2022. Prior to this role, they were the Head of School at Prisma from June 2020 to November 2022.

Before joining Prisma, Kristen founded and served as the Head of School at Emblaze Academy Charter School from July 2017 to June 2020. Kristen played a pivotal role in establishing the school, overseeing various aspects such as school design, leadership, culture, and board governance. Kristen also actively engaged with the local community, conducting public information sessions and seeking feedback to ensure the school's success.

Kristen gained valuable experience as an Academic Dean at Achievement First from June 2013 to June 2016, where they contributed to the school's academic development. Kristen also worked as a Field Experience Manager at TNTP for a brief period in 2013, further enhancing their educational expertise.

Kristen started their career as a Teacher at Harlem Village Academies from 2012 to 2013 and the NYC Department of Education from 2010 to 2012.

In 2016, they were selected as a Fellow for Building Excellent Schools, where they received extensive training in charter school creation and facilitated the establishment of Emblaze Academy. During this fellowship, Kristen conducted in-depth research on high-performing schools and successfully wrote a comprehensive charter application that received formal authorization from the New York State Education Department.

Kristen Shroff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Kristen also earned a Master of Science degree in Bilingual and Multilingual Education from The City College of New York. Additionally, they have obtained a Teaching License-Standard from New York State.
