Michael Gatto has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Michael began their career in the United States Marine Corps, working as a Middle East Analyst, Arabic Linguist, and Persian Linguist. Michael then transitioned into the role of Imagery Requirements Software Manager.
After their military service, Gatto joined the University of Arizona as a Lead Programmer in the College of Fine Arts. In this role, they were responsible for web software development, including discovering requirements, documenting projects, coding applications, and maintaining legacy systems.
Gatto then moved on to work at the iPlant Collaborative, where they served as a Systems Programmer, Senior. Michael played a key role in the implementation of an automated user management system and maintained it after its launch.
Following their time at iPlant Collaborative, Gatto joined Lisantra Technologies, LLC as a Programmer and Managing Director.
Michael later joined Simpleview as a CRM Developer, providing support to Destination Marketing Organizations and internal and third-party vendors.
Currently, Gatto serves as a Lead Software Engineer at Jonas Software. Their responsibilities include leading software development efforts and contributing to the maintenance and development of various systems and applications. Their expertise lies in mobile and front-end web development.
Michael Gatto earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Oregon State University from 2019 to 2022. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Arts in Near Eastern Studies at the University of Arizona from 2005 to 2008. Their undergraduate studies were in International Business at Hawaii Pacific University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from 2002 to 2005.
