Jay Silver

Jay Silver is the Founder and CEO of JOYLABZ LLC, where experimentation with future user interfaces and innovative learning methods is prioritized. Previous roles include serving on the Board of Directors for Maker Ed and contributing as a PhD Researcher at MIT Media Lab, with a focus on creative tools and platforms. Silver has experience as a Maker Research Scientist at Intel Labs, supporting the Maker Movement, and held various academic-related positions at MIT, including Graduate Resident Tutor and NSF Fellow. Early career accomplishments involve work as a Computer Vision Researcher at MIT Lincoln Laboratory and project involvement in image processing at Georgia Institute of Technology and U.C. San Diego Biology Department. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, two master's degrees from MIT and University of Cambridge, and a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
