jQuery was created by John Resig (http://ejohn.org) and announced at BarCampNYC on January 14th, 2006. Since then jQuery has changed the internet industry and the way developers write JavaScript. Currently jQuery is used on 20% of all sites on the internet and has an extensive adoption rate from companies large and small.
