Vimal Singh

Vimal Singh has extensive work experience in the field of data analytics and business insights. Vimal currently holds the position of Head: Data Solutions at JSE since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Rand Merchant Bank where they served as the Platform Lead for Global Markets Data Analytics from February 2019 to July 2022. Before that, they held the role of Manager for Data Analytics in Global Markets and Manager for Business Insights in Corporate Banking.

Earlier in their career, Vimal worked at Standard Bank as the Head of Sales Measurement, Sales Target Setting, and Insights from November 2010 to June 2013. Vimal also held the positions of Manager for Data Analysis & Modeling and Manager for Workforce Management and MIS.

Vimal began their career at Accenture as a Financial Services Consultant from August 2004 to August 2006. Prior to that, they worked at Standard Bank Group as a Call Center MIS Analyst from June 2003 to July 2004.

Vimal Singh obtained a Masters degree in Statistics from the University of the Witwatersrand, which they attended from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, they completed a BCom degree in Quantitative Management at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika from 2004 to 2009. In 2002, they earned a BScHonours degree in Mathematical Statistics from the University of the Witwatersrand. Before pursuing their honors degree, Vimal Singh received a BSc degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, which they attended from 1999 to 2002.

In addition to their formal education, Vimal Singh has acquired several certifications. Vimal obtained the certifications "Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals" and "Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals" from Microsoft in July 2023 and June 2023, respectively. Vimal also obtained the "SQL(Basic)" certification from HackerRank in June 2023. Prior to these certifications, they earned the "Analytics Translation" certification from APMG International in April 2023 and the "Data Science Leadership for Executives" certification from the Graduate School of Business - University of Cape Town in October 2022. Furthermore, they completed the courses "DAT256x: Essential Math for Machine Learning: Python Edition" and "DAT101x: Introduction to Data Science" from Microsoft in December 2018 and June 2018, respectively.
