Wendy Handler currently serves as a Project Consultant for the Live and Learn Community at Jewish Senior Life of Metropolitan Detroit, where Wendy is spearheading a pilot program to transform the Norma Jean and Edward Meer Apartments into a community focused on learning and enrichment, set to launch in late spring 2024. Previously, Wendy held various roles at DOROT from 2015 to 2023, including Director of Onsite & Special Programs, where innovative remote programming during the Covid-19 pandemic significantly increased senior engagement. Wendy also initiated the Lasting Impressions project, emphasizing creative aging and legacy arts. Prior experience includes a Senior Social Worker position at Jarvie Commonweal Service and internships focused on geriatric care and support for homeless teens. Wendy holds a Master's in Social Work from Fordham University and a Bachelor's in Marketing and Consumer Behavior from the University of Michigan.
