Steve Rivera has had extensive experience in the field of geology and project management. Steve began their career in 1987 with Phelps Dodge Exploration Corp., where they worked as a Project Manager until 1997. From 2008 to 2011, they served as the Chief Geologist at General Moly, Inc., overseeing the development of the Mt. Hope and Liberty ore deposits. Steve then worked at BHP Billiton in 2012 as a Senior Geologist, managing geologic and geotechnical data collection. In 2013, they joined Freeport McMoran Copper & Gold Inc. as a Senior Resource Geologist. From 2014 onwards, they worked as an Exploration Geologist at THE BIGS and later at AAE Exploration (USA) in 2016. In addition to their geological roles, Steve also has experience as a Project Manager at Phelps Dodge Exploration from 1992 to 1995 and as a Project Manager at JSR Tech Consulting since 2009.

Steve Rivera earned their Bachelor's degree in Geology/Earth Science, General from The University of New Mexico, where they studied from 1975 to 1979. Following that, they pursued a degree in Geologcial Engineering with a focus on Hydrology and Water Resources Science at the University of Arizona from 1981 to 1984.
