Sofia F. currently serves as the Head of Compliance, Risk & MLRO at Julius Baer, Portugal Branch, responsible for overseeing compliance with banking and securities laws, AML/CFT regulations, and conducting risk assessments. Before this role, Sofia held positions at EFG International as Head of Compliance, MLRO & Data Protection Officer, as well as at BNP Paribas CIB as a Team Leader in both Risk & Control Compliance and Sanctions Compliance. Prior experience includes senior compliance roles at EuroBic, Small World Financial Services, and Banco Credibom SA, in addition to legal positions early in the career. Sofia holds a Licentiate degree in Law from Universidade de Coimbra and has further education from Universidade Clássica de Lisboa.
