Joanne Smith

Joanne Smith has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and positions. Joanne currently holds the position of Head of FP&A and Supply Finance at Mars since June 2023. Prior to this, they established their own consulting firm, Joanne Smith Consulting, in April 2021, where they served as CFO, COO, and Strategic Projects Consultant.

Before starting their consulting venture, Joanne worked as the Chief Financial Officer at Little Birdie from May 2021 to January 2023. Joanne previously held the role of CFO at Compass Education from February 2019 to November 2020, where they played a pivotal role in building the finance function and implementing systems to support the company's rapid growth.

Joanne Smith obtained a CA degree in Chartered Accountancy from ICAS - The Professional Body of CAs, where they studied from 2007 to 2010. Joanne then pursued a program in "Make Me a Board Director" at the Future Directors Institute from 2017 to 2018. Prior to that, Joanne attended the University of Strathclyde from 2002 to 2007, earning a BA (Hons) 2:1 degree in Finance. In 2005 to 2006, they also studied at TU Dortmund University, though the specific field of study is not provided.
