Dr. John Mighton

Dr. John Mighton is the founder of JUMP Math, an award-winning mathematician, playwright, best-selling author, and Ashoka Fellow. Committed to enhancing educational access, Mighton developed the JUMP Math program, which serves approximately 170,000 students in Canada, 16,000 in the United States, and 40,000 in Spain, including nearly 20 percent of Indigenous students in First Nations across Canada. Mighton's extensive experience includes lecture positions in mathematics and philosophy at institutions such as the University of Toronto and McMaster University, as well as a research fellowship at The Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences. Mighton holds an MA in Philosophy and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Toronto, along with an Honors BA in Philosophy.
