Greg Shonle

Greg Shonle has over 35 years of experience in software engineering. Greg is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at JumpCloud, where they develop software for the Device Agent of the JumpCloud solution. Greg has added new features and capabilities to the Device Agent software in Go and has also made improvements to the handling capabilities of the JumpCloud management server's REST interface using Node.

Before joining JumpCloud, Greg worked for Hewlett Packard Enterprise for almost a decade as a Software Designer VI in the Hyperconverged Infrastructure group. Greg developed API software for HPE's SimpliVity product line, focusing on adding new features to the configuration database code using C++.

Prior to HPE, Greg worked at Alteryx, LLC as a Senior Software Engineer, where they developed software for Alteryx's geospatial business intelligence application. Greg extended the indexed data file interface and migrated the code base to Visual Studio 2010.

Greg also has experience working at Lumentum (formerly JDSU), Qualstar, Exabyte, O.R. Technology, and Particle Measuring Systems. In these roles, they developed firmware and software for fiber optic transceivers, tape libraries, floppy drives, and real-time data collection and analysis software.

Overall, Greg has a strong background in software engineering, with expertise in various programming languages such as Go, C++, C#, and Node.

Greg Shonle pursued their education in Computer Science at Colorado State University from 1981 to 1985, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Additionally, they have acquired various certifications over the years. In October 2014, Greg received the Scaled Agile Framework Practitioner certification from www.scaledagileacademy.com. In February 2021, they obtained the JumpCloud Core Certification from JumpCloud. Lastly, in December 2022, Greg completed the Go: The complete developers guide certification from Udemy.
