Peter Gengler has accumulated a diverse range of work experience throughout their career. Peter started as a Hardware Engineer Intern at Dell in 1999, where they were responsible for testing and debugging server accessory software. Peter then moved on to Hewlett-Packard in 2001, where they worked as a Hardware Engineer Intern, verifying the functionality and quality of a block in a next generation microprocessor.
In 2002, Peter joined SGI as a Hardware Engineer Intern, focusing on the global physical design of ASICs for servers and workstations. Peter collaborated with circuit design groups and explored scripting to automate aspects of the design process.
Peter's experience at Microsoft - Xbox began in 2003, where they initially worked as a Hardware Design Engineer in Test. Peter was entrusted with defining, developing, and executing testing for hard disk drives and various subsystems on Xbox consoles.
In 2005, Peter transitioned to the role of a Software Development Engineer in Test, working on test applications for Xbox 360 hardware groups. Peter bridged the gap between hardware engineers and software capabilities to enhance testing coverage.
From 2007 to 2009, Peter served as the Lead Software Development Engineer in Test at Microsoft - Xbox, leading a team in developing hardware design and development tests for the Xbox 360. Peter provided deployment tools to facilitate test execution and coordinated between teams to integrate testing solutions, resulting in improved quality and cost-efficiency.
In 2009, Peter joined Prevail Health Solutions as the Chief Technology Officer. Peter played a significant role in leading the development of a scalable and user-friendly web platform for delivering mental health solutions.
Peter's next career move took him to SendGrid in 2013, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer. Peter championed the design and implementation of a build pipeline for a complex Service-Oriented Architecture, reducing deployment risks and ensuring consistency across components.
Peter's most recent position is at JumpCloud, where they have held several roles since 2015. Peter started as a Senior Software Engineer, then progressed to the position of Principal Software Engineer before assuming their current role as Chief Architect in March 2020.
Peter Gengler earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Peter attended the university from 1998 to 2002. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Madison West High School between 1994 and 1998. Later, Peter pursued higher studies and obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Washington from 2004 to 2007.
