Scott Thurston

Scott Thurston has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Scott is currently employed as a Senior Software Engineer at JumpCloud since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Software Engineer at JumpCloud from February 2020 to September 2021.

Before joining JumpCloud, Scott worked at Spectra Logic as a Senior Software Engineer from May 2012 to February 2020. Their role focused on embedded robotics control software development and test automation software development.

Additionally, Scott held positions in the following companies: NOAA, where they served as a Systems Engineer from April 2010 to February 2012; Earth Resources Technology, where they worked as a Systems Engineer from March 2010 to February 2012; Sun Microsystems, where they were a Switch Engineer from January 2008 to January 2010; SunGard Higher Education, where they worked as a Senior Technical Consultant from July 2004 to December 2007; Sun Microsystems, where they served as a Senior Software Engineer from July 2000 to July 2004; Storage Technology Corporation, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer from October 1998 to July 2000; Sequent Computer Systems, where they held the role of Peripherals Engineer/Tech Support Engineer from April 1990 to July 1998.

Scott's career started in the US Air Force as an Information Systems Programmer from December 1982 to April 1990.

Scott Thurston attended the Community College of the Air Force from 1983 to 1989, where they earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Information Systems Management. In addition to their degree, Scott also obtained the JumpCloud Core Certification from JumpCloud in September 2021 and became a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) through the Scrum Alliance in May 2021.
