Feowyn MacKinnon has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Their most recent role was as the Director of Learning Center Curriculum and Education at JumpStart Inc. where they established and maintained customer relationships, networked to attract new business, and coordinated activities within the organization. Prior to that, they worked in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District as the Head of School and later as the Assistant Principal at MC2 STEM High School. In these roles, they focused on curriculum development, teacher training, program evaluation, and collaboration with research teams. Feowyn also served as an Educational Consultant at the Teaching Institute for Excellence in STEM and the Great Lakes Science Center, where they collaborated with teachers, evaluated curricula, and conducted professional development activities. Earlier in their career, Feowyn worked as an English Language Arts Teacher in STEM-focused programs at the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and the NYC Department of Education. Additionally, they gained experience as a Catalog Copywriter at AmeriMark Direct and as a Customer Service Representative at Progressive Insurance.
Feowyn MacKinnon began their education at the Cleveland School of the Arts, where they obtained a diploma in Creative Writing from 1997 to 2001. Feowyn then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Creative Writing at Cleveland State University from 2001 to 2005. After completing their undergraduate studies, Feowyn attended Fordham University from 2007 to 2009, earning a Master of Science degree in English Education.
In addition to their academic credentials, Feowyn has obtained two professional licenses in their field. In June 2010, they received an Ohio 5 Year Professional License in Adolescence to Young Adult (7-12) English. Then, in July 2012, they obtained an Ohio 5 Year Professional License as a Principal for grades 4-9 and grades 5-12.
