Ed Murphy has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Ed began their career in 1989 as an independent contractor for Presage Partners, designing and developing consumer print publishing software. In 1990, they became President of Presage Software Development, where they were responsible for all company operations and P&L. Ed also served as the Chief Software Architect for many of the company's projects, as well as the Producer and Project Manager for the technical tracts of all the company's projects. In 1998, they became Studio President of Human Code, Inc., where they were responsible for all aspects of the Studio's operation. In 1999, they became Director of Technology at Sapient, where they were responsible for building relationships with clients and developing a technology vision. In 2001, they became VP of Product Development at Talking Fingers, Inc., where they worked closely with Dr. Joseph Torgesen and Dr. Jeannine Herron on a grant-funded project. In 2003, they became Vice President for Product Engineering at IntelliTools, Inc., where they were responsible for product architecture and hands-on management of the product engineering group. In 2008, they became Java Architect at Tribal Brands, where they were responsible for a mobile ticketing platform implemented with Java, Spring, Hibernate, MySQL and Glassfish. In 2009, they became Chief Technology Officer and Software Architect at Conceptua Math, where they created innovations that enabled deep collaboration between teachers and students in difficult areas of mathematics. Finally, in 2014, they became Java Architect at BabyCenter LLC, a Johnson & Johnson company, where they lead the effort to decompose monolith into micro-services, implemented Authorization and Profile services to integrate identity across platforms, and conceptualized and lead the effort to refactor front-end from JSP/Tiles to modern ReactJS application. In 2019, they became Server Engineer at June.

Ed Murphy's education history consists of a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Studies in Software Engineering and Numerical Computation from Harvard University obtained between 1984 and 1987, as well as a BS in Chemistry and Biology from Bridgewater State University obtained between 1977 and 1982. Additionally, Ed has obtained numerous certifications from Coursera, including Machine Learning Specialization and Machine Learning: Clustering & Retrieval in 2018, Machine Learning: Classification and Machine Learning: Regression in 2016, Machine Learning Foundations: A Case Study Approach, Getting and Cleaning Data, and R Programming in 2015, as well as Mining Massive Datasets and The Data Scientist’s Toolbox in 2015. Ed also obtained an Android Mobile Bootcamp certification from https://codepath.com in 2014.
