About JU STEM Academy
JU STEM Academy is a tutoring and college consulting service founded by Cornell University graduates Joseph Ushie and Ukana Bassey, dedicated to making the path to STEM and medicine more accessible for aspiring healthcare professionals and scientists.
Our Story
The journey to medical school and competitive STEM programs demands more than good grades. It requires strategic planning, resilience, and mentorship from people who truly understand the process. Many students receive guidance from advisors who haven't personally navigated the rigorous application cycles and academic demands of pursuing medicine. We created JU STEM Academy to fill that gap.
As recent Cornell graduates actively working in clinical research and preparing to matriculate to medical school, we bring fresh, relevant insights. We've lived through perfecting personal statements, standardized testing anxiety, and balancing research with academics. Now, we're turning those experiences into your advantage.
What We Offer

SAT/ACT Test Prep with personalized study plans
STEM Tutoring in biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics
College Application Consulting and personal statement development
Medical School Application Strategy and secondary essay coaching
Interview Preparation with recent applicant experience

Our Approach
We don't just teach content—we demystify the entire journey. Every student receives personalized attention and strategic guidance from educators who genuinely care about their success. We're building a community where aspiring professionals can learn from our successes, avoid our mistakes, and discover their passion for medicine and STEM.
