Oliver Yates

Oliver Yates has held a variety of roles in the tech industry since 2015. In 2015, they were an English Language Teacher at Merit School, where they learnt how to deal with stressful and challenging situations, with class sizes of up to 30 children, and taught students ranging from 10-12, 15-18, and adults. In 2017, they worked as a Web Content Editor at WeddingWire. In 2018, they began working as a Junior Front-End Engineer at JustPark, then later became a Frontend Engineer. As a Frontend Engineer, Oliver was very experienced with complex frontend applications, used by hundreds of thousands of users on a variety of devices and browsers, creating pages from scratch using React / SCSS from Figma designs. Oliver also led a team of 2 developers to create a new checkout page, which has a variety of states, and led to an increase in conversion. Oliver created the majority of the ticket for the project and successfully delegated to other developers.

Oliver Yates attended the University of East Anglia from 2011 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Politics.
