Ryan Spelman has held various positions throughout their career. Ryan is currently the Managing Director of Cyber Risk at K logix since June 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Kroll as a Senior Vice President from September 2021 to June 2022, and as a Senior Manager from May 2019 to June 2022. Ryan also had a tenure with The Center for Internet Security, where they held multiple roles including Senior Director from September 2015 to April 2019, Program Executive and Partner Engagement from June 2014 to September 2015, Director of Alliance Program Management from April 2012 to August 2014, and Director of Government Affairs from January 2011 to November 2012. Ryan played a crucial role in developing outreach programs, managing cybersecurity education and awareness initiatives, and co-chairing a legislative awareness workgroup. Prior to that, Ryan served as the Committee Director at the New York State Senate Committee on Veterans', Homeland Security and Military Affairs from February 2009 to January 2011, where they advised the committee on homeland security and veterans policies and played a significant role in developing legislation for the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services. Ryan also served as a James L. Biggane Fellow at the New York State Senate Finance Committee from August 2008 to February 2009, providing advice on public safety budgets and sales tax legislation. Additionally, Ryan was a Regionalization Team Member at the New York State Office of Homeland Security from April 2007 to August 2008, where they contributed to the Weapons of Mass Destruction Task Force, assisted in the development of regional exercise programs, and prepared grant justifications.

Ryan Spelman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University at Albany, SUNY, which they completed between 2003 and 2006. Ryan then pursued a Masters of Public Administration in Public Safety from the same university, completing it from 2006 to 2008. Additionally, Ryan attended the SANS Technology Institute, where they obtained a GCED degree. However, the specific start and end years for this program are not provided.
