Erwin Folmer

Erwin Folmer is a seasoned expert in data science and interoperability, currently serving as Lector of Applied Data Science & AI at HAN University of Applied Sciences since January 2024. With extensive experience, Folmer has led the Data Science Team at Kadaster since January 2015 and has been a Research Associate at the University of Twente since 2009, focusing on semantic interoperability and standards. Between January 2015 and January 2024, Folmer worked at PLD | Universiteit Twente as a Docent. Notably, from June 2012 to April 2017, Folmer led the Platform Linked Data in the Netherlands. Prior experience includes a Senior Scientist role at TNO Information and Communication Technology, and positions as a Visiting Researcher at the European Research Center for Information Systems and Specialist in Open Standards at Netherlands Open in Connection. Folmer earned a PhD in Management and Governance from the University of Twente and holds a degree in Business Administration & IT from the same institution.
