Thomas Cunningham is currently the Bioethics Director at Kaiser Permanente, responsible for clinical ethics consultation, ethics education, scholarship, and hospital leadership since 2016. Previously, Thomas served as an Assistant Professor and Clinical Ethicist at UAMS from 2013 to 2016. In addition to their work at Kaiser Permanente, Thomas has been a lecturer at Loyola Marymount University from 2018 to 2023 and has volunteered as Co-Chair of the Clinical Ethics Consultation Affinity Group for the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities since 2020. Thomas holds multiple degrees, including a PhD in History and Philosophy of Science and a Master's in Bioethics/Medical Ethics from the University of Pittsburgh.
