The group commenced operations in Sri Lanka as an entity engaged in the manufacture and trading of tobacco products, and printing. the operations were later shifted to India and the company grew to be a leading manufacturer of tobacco products with a pan-India presence, employing over 45,000 people directly and indirectly.
