Michael Brown

Scientific Advisor at Kallyope

Michael Brown is currently a Scientific Advisor at Kallyope. Prior to that, they were a Senior Research Investigator II at Bristol-Myers Squibb from January 2014 to August 2018. Before that, they were a Senior Research Chemist at Merck Sharp & Dohme from August 2009 to January 2014.

Brown has experience in route-scouting and developing new reactions for pre-clinical and late-stage candidates, as well as scale-up of reactions from kilo-scale to pilot plant within GMP regulations. Michael is also skilled in catalysis via high-throughput screening, and pre-clinical, clinical, and late-stage development within process, analytical, and manufacturing. Michael is currently a project lead for two programs with one direct report, and is also the process chemistry lead for consulting and seminars.

Brown began their educational career at Regis High School. Michael then attended New York University for their B.S. in Chemistry. Brown continued their studies at the University of California, Berkeley, where they received their Ph.D. in Chemistry. After completing their Ph.D., Brown became an NIH NRSA Postdoctoral Fellow at Scripps Research in the field of chemistry.
