Drew Elder is currently working as a Lead Scientist in Food Protection at Kalsec Inc. Previously, Drew held positions as a Graduate Research Assistant at Penn State University and as a Rapid Innovation Team Member at Xinova during graduate practicum experience. Drew has a Doctor of Philosophy in Food Science and a Bachelor of Science in Food Science from Penn State University. At Penn State, they focused on isolating, purifying, and identifying antioxidants from rye bran and developing unique solutions for utilizing natural antioxidants in preserving commercial frying oils. Additionally, they have experience in research and development, where they developed new formulations for cream cheese and updated company-wide HACCP cleaning matrix for food safety at Schreiber Foods.
