Mil Kovacevich has had a long and successful career in the public and private sectors. From 1979 to 2018, Mil has worked in various roles at multiple organizations. In 1979, Mil began as a Researcher at the Oakville Social Planning Council, where they surveyed the needs of the physically disabled in Oakville and designed and developed the Accessibility Guidebook. In 1980, Mil moved to Boston, Gilbert, Henry Associates Ltd. as a Researcher, where they compiled and analyzed survey data used to determine the Ontario Health Forecasting Model and prepared an inventory of childcare facilities and designed the questionnaire used to understand childcare needs in Halton Region. In 1982, Mil became the Executive Director of the Social Planning and Research Council of St. Catharines-Thorold, where they implemented Board policy to promote social planning and community development, supervised staff and volunteers, prepared budgets and applications for funding, initiated a housing network between agencies, and conducted research studies on housing and poverty. In 1989, Mil took on a Program Coordinator role at the Government of Ontario, Ministry of Housing. In 1999, Mil became the Chief Executive Officer of the YWCA St. Catharines, where they founded the first crisis housing facility for women and their children in St. Catharines, and was responsible for the daily operations of four core programs. In 2007, Mil took on a role at Brock University as an Instructor/Teaching Assistant, where they designed a course syllabus for a third year Canadian Studies course and acted as a Teaching Assistant for two courses. Finally, in 2018, Mil became the Director of Strategic Partner Alliances at Gigit.

Mil Kovacevich obtained a Bachelor of Environmental Studies in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Waterloo, a Master of Arts in Social Welfare Policy from McMaster University, and an Executive Education Certificate in Performance Management for Effective Management of Non-Profit Organizations from Harvard University.
