Nick Wei

Nick Wei has 8 years of work experience in the IT field. Nick began their career in 2012 as an IT Support Engineer at KVB, where they were responsible for managing 5 racks of Windows servers in the office and data center, providing backup and restore, procurement management, project management, and supporting various Finance/Trading platforms. In 2014, Nick joined Yellow New Zealand as a DevSecOps Engineer and DevOps Engineer. In this role, they automated builds and deployments (Bamboo, Code pipeline), migrated workloads to AWS (ECS, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway), monitored and troubleshot (Cloudwatch, Sumologic etc.), containerized (Docker), implemented infrastructure as code (Cloudformation), and configured management (Slatstack, Ansible). Nick also explored and reviewed new services (Alexa, SageMaker, Comprehend etc.). Currently, Nick is a Senior DevOps Engineer at Kami.

Nick Wei has an extensive educational background. In 2010, they earned their Master of Professional Business Studies (MPBS) in Information Technology from Auckland University of Technology. Between 2005 and 2007, they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Information Technology from Massey University. Nick also holds several professional certifications, including a Professional Cloud Architect from Google Cloud obtained in July 2022, an AWS Certified Security - Specialty from Amazon Web Services (AWS) obtained in August 2019, and an MCSE from Microsoft.
