Vicky Thirlaway is an experienced legal educator and practitioner, currently serving as SQE2 Subject Head in Criminal Litigation at Kaplan since July 2024. Prior to this role, Thirlaway held various positions at Sheffield Hallam University from January 2013 to July 2024, including Senior Lecturer, Student Experience Lead, and Academic Adviser Lead for Law, winning multiple awards for inspirational teaching. Thirlaway also served as a Senior Lecturer at Leeds Metropolitan University, where responsibilities included course leadership in the Post-Graduate Diploma in Law and module leadership in Criminal and Public Law. Early career experience includes roles as a solicitor specializing in criminal law at Davis Gore Lomax and Harrison Bundey and Co. Educational qualifications include a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Language from the University of Leeds and legal qualifications from Leeds Metropolitan University.
