Mark Staples is currently the Head of Platform Engineering at Karbon, where they focus on backend platform areas and team alignment to address complex challenges in scaling and performance. Previously, Mark served as Director of Engineering at Campaign Monitor and held various engineering roles at Fairfax Media, where they developed and supported high-availability financial trading systems. Mark began their career as a developer and has a strong foundation in Agile and Lean philosophies to enhance team empowerment and delivery processes. They hold a Bachelor of Information & Communication Technology from the University of Wollongong and a Graduate Diploma of Management from Charles Sturt University.
