kariops is a fractional AI operations practice based in Portland, Oregon. We build operational AI for small businesses that know AI can help but don't know where to start.

The buyer: a founder or CEO of a $5M to $50M operation who has used ChatGPT, bought a tool or two, and has a team that knows AI exists but no plan for using it in the work the company actually runs on. The Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses Voices survey put a number on it. 76% of small business owners use AI. Only 14% have integrated it into core operations. 48% cannot choose between the tools. kariops closes that gap.

Three ways to work together. A two-week scoping engagement that produces a written plan with three projects worth building. A three to six month build engagement that ships the projects, trains an internal owner, and documents the runbook. An ongoing monthly partnership after the build, where pipelines are added and retired as the business changes and cost is monitored across every tool.

Our stance. AI makes the human better at being human. AI prepares, drafts, researches, analyzes, and recommends. The human sends, schedules, commits, and decides. Nothing external-facing ships without human review.
