KaRMa Exotechnologies is a women’s health biotech company built around a simple truth: preterm birth is devastating—for the baby, the mother, and the entire family. It disrupts lives, fractures expectations, and leaves long shadows on health and wellbeing. Yet for all of our medical advances, we still don’t have enough targeted, biology-informed options to prevent or treat these complications safely.
We’re working to change that by developing exosome-based therapeutics to address inflammatory drivers of preterm birth and related pregnancy complications. Our work centers on using extracellular vesicles—engineered exosomes—to deliver anti-inflammatory signals such as IL-10 directly to the tissues and interfaces that matter most in pregnancy, with the goal of improving outcomes while minimizing systemic toxicity.
Preterm birth is our first focus, but the need extends far beyond a single indication. Many female-specific inflammatory diseases across the reproductive lifespan have been underfunded and understudied. The same exosome-based platform we are building for preterm birth is designed to expand into other women’s health conditions where safer, more precise therapies are urgently needed.
At the same time, we know this field is bigger than any one company. KaRMa Exotechnologies also partners with others who want to harness the power of exosomes as drug delivery systems. Through research-use-only services in extracellular vesicles and reproductive immunology—including advanced in vitro and organ-on-chip models, custom assays, and exosome characterization—we help teams de-risk their own programs and move more confidently toward the clinic.
We are still early, but our direction is clear: better tools, better biology, and better options for women, mothers, and babies. What goes around, heals around.
