We are living in times of profound change: technological developments and artificial intelligence are transforming work, education and communication. Demographic change and political tensions are posing challenges to our society. This makes the question all the more pressing: what does it mean to be human today? The kata agorein Foundation aims to promote dialogue on social issues – particularly where there are conflicting viewpoints. Our work focuses on: • promoting science and research, particularly in the context of ‘Being human in the Age of AI’ • enhancing understanding of political issues • fostering civic engagement We aim to highlight people and ideas that open up new perspectives, challenge established ways of thinking and thus inject fresh impetus into public discourse. A clear guiding principle underlies everything we do: the human being is the measure of all things.
