At Kate's Korner Learning Center, we know that each child is setting off on their own unique learning journey, and we're here to ensure along the way, every child experiences the care and support of an inclusive community. Located in the heart of Durham a few blocks from historical Black Wall Street and philosophically rooted in educational justice, Kate's Korner Learning Center is mission-driven to build access to equitable learning experiences, powered by the strength of community and our belief in each child's innate potential and excellence.

Kate’s Korner Learning Center – Durham is a joyful, educator-first early learning community where children, families, and teachers thrive together.

Our classrooms are built on the Soil B4 Seed model — a research-backed approach that centers educator well-being as the foundation for exceptional child care. We believe children learn best when they are guided by teachers who feel respected, supported, and empowered.

Here, educators are paid well, supported through wellness programs, and trusted as leaders in shaping classroom culture and learning experiences. Our environments are culturally affirming, nurturing, and designed to help every child feel seen, valued, and safe.

Families are true partners in their child’s learning journey, supported by transparent communication, community events, and strong relationships with our teaching team.

Kate’s Korner Durham is more than a childcare center. It is a community — rooted in care, joy, belonging, and growth.
