Brian Moran

Brian Moran is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at KAUST, where they have been teaching since 2008. Prior to this, Brian held various positions at Northwestern University, including Chair of Mechanical Engineering and Civil and Environmental Engineering, and also served as Dean of Graduate Affairs at KAUST until 2024. Brian began their academic career as an Instructor at NUI Galway and spent a year as an IBM Research Fellow at Caltech. They hold a Ph.D. in Engineering - Solid Mechanics from Brown University, as well as master's degrees in Applied Mathematics and Engineering Science/Mechanical. Brian earned a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the National University of Ireland, Galway.
